What exactly is a UI/UX design portfolio? 🤔

Essentially, a UI/UX design portfolio is a way of showcasing your work. It typically includes case studies of projects you’ve worked on, putting emphasis on your skills and approach. Let’s look at some examples! 👇

What’s cool about a portfolio is that you can express yourself freely, regardless of the platform you choose to use. When we work on projects we might sometimes find ourselves limiting our creativity in order to meet client requirements and budget. But when we build our portfolio, we can let our creativity run free! 🤸‍♀️

Your design portfolio is your own space online where you can tell your story in a way that best represents you.

So how many case studies should you include?

The Interaction Design Foundation suggests that a proper number of case studies in a portfolio is 3. NNGroup confirms this by stating that 👇

A good rule of thumb is to have 3–5 projects in your portfolio and to keep those projects current.

From my experience, you can start applying to jobs if you feel ready even if you have one…
