Vancouver Canucks Armchair GM: Round 3
Well if you’ve made it this far then thank you. Round 1 and Round 2 are in the books but its time to examine who the Canucks should take with the 65th overall draft pick in the 2016 NHL draft. Just like Round 2 I am going to list three to one in that order who the Canucks should pick.
Number 3: Ty Ronning
Ty Ronning is a name very familiar to Canucks fans. The Vancouver Giants forward is the son of former Canuck Cliff Ronning. Ty is slick. His hands in tight are amazing and his skating stride is sneaky quick. Ronning is listed 5’9, 157lbs and draws his inspiration from Johnny Gaudreau, another undersized forward. I think Ronning will definitely be available when the Canucks make their third round selection and may be passed over into the fourth round because he is a boom or bust prospect. However, Ronning is easy to market in the Vancouver market and he has a lot of skill to back it all up. For Ty Ronning’s statistics, click the link below.

Number 2: Cam Dineen
Cam Dineen is one of the biggest draft movers over the course of the 2015–16 season. He went from off everyone’s radar to a possible second round pick. The North Bay Battalion defensemen has superb offensive ability, scoring 59 points in 68 games this season. Dineen’s defensive game is a question mark at this point. While he has put up huge points, the undersized Dineen can really get physically overpowered in his own zone. For more information on Cam Dineen, click the link below.

Number 1: Sean Day
Sean Day is a very intriguing player. After being granted exceptional status to play in the OHL as a 15-year-old, Day has underwhelmed scouts. However, according to Damien Cox, Day is “a world-class skater built like a linebacker.” And he is, the defensemen is listed at 6’2, 225lbs and he skates like the wind. Rumours of his attitude have surfaced but he is still a teenage kid who has room to grow both physically and more importantly mentally. For more information on Sean Day, click the link below.
