Second, I would point out that you are really only commenting on the employer-based and the individual insurance markets. If you are a veteran, we have a parallel system that is much like the United Kingdom: the providers and the hospitals are all employed/owned by the government. If you’re over 65, we have the equivalent of the Canadian system, where the government pays for everything but the delivery is private. So, we actually have many overlapping systems, which only increases the redundancy and overall inefficiency.
