There needs to be some distinction between UX App Developers (to whom the majority of UX articles on medium are seemingly aimed at) and ‘real world’ UX Designers who might work on the interior UX of queuing at a shop or waiting for a bus. ‘Real World’ sounds a bit harsh as it makes it out UX Devs aren’t doing a real job when this is obviously not true given how important apps are to, well everything.

Just as the word ‘Designer’ gets bandied around to mean everything from a Silversmith to a Packaging Artist, so does the term UX Job Title get overused by silicon valley. For example, I would expect a UX Researcher and UX Designer to be the same job, because designers should be doing their own research.
