To the women.

A letter to the women in my life.

To the women who’ve inspired my career.

Sarah Robb O’Hagan and Angela Ahrendts

To the women I’ve been lucky to call colleagues and friends.

To the woman with no fear and a full heart.

Sophia Jones, The Fuller Project

To the women leading change in the world.

Nafisa and Selina Bakkar, Amaliah

To the women that make the men in my life complete.

To the women that have stood by me my whole life.

To the woman who made me who I am today.

To every woman that I know, and that I don’t.

You are brilliant. You are resilient. You are strong. You are intelligent. You are brave. You are kind. You are unstoppable. You are powerful. You are more. You are the change. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are whatever you want to be.

You’ve all inspired me to play my part in ensuring some day, when I have a daughter, she grows up with the same opportunities and access that I have had. And not just my little girl, but every little girl with a dream of leaving her mark on the world, whether as an astrophysicist or a stay at home mum. It’s about having a choice.

I don’t call myself a feminist, or a ‘manbassador’. I just believe deeply in equality and will use my voice and my privilege to contribute to making it a reality. It will be International Women’s Day every damn day until it is so.

And to my fellow men, you have a choice too. Choose which side of history you want to be on. Because I’m pretty sure women will be running this joint we call earth sooner than you think.
