In a good book the best is between the lines.

I typically read in seasons or modes. Sometimes I am in full research mode so most of my reading focuses on a particular subject. Other times I may be in an entrepreneurial mode and most of my books will deal with that world. This month, I found some much needed balance between professional development, research, and fun. Here is what I read or finished reading in the last 30 days:

The Five Temptations of a CEO by Patrick Lencioni — My favorite quote- “Fight the temptation to chose certainty over clarity. Some executives fear being wrong so much that they will wait until they’re absolutely certain about something before they make a decision. This makes it impossible to hold people accountable.”

The Insurgents by Fred Kaplan — My favorite quote- “Tactical success guarantees nothing.”

What Happened by Hillary Rodham Clinton — My favorite quote- “When people start believing that all politicians are liars and crooks, the truly corrupt escape scrutiny, and cynicism grows.”

Grasping God’s Word by J. Scott Duvall and J. Daniel Hays — My favorite quote- “Some have raised the question of which comes first, faith in Christ or belief in the inspiration of the Bible?…In actuality, it seems to us that the two go together and are inseparable. We believe in the divine inspiration and trustworthiness of the Bible because we know Jesus Christ, and we know Jesus Christ through the testimony of the Bible.”

What are you reading?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
