Thank you Ben, very well written!
This ALL resonates so truthfully with me. My experience over the last 3 years has been realizing lazy habits, discovering the bullshit I was so occupied with, and then executing the work to affect real change. This brought me to a place within myself that I always felt and knew existed but never gave a chance to flourish.
The result (3 years later): I am seriously laser focused. To say I feel a sense of clarity would be a huge understatement. The amount of change happening in my life these days is dizzying, and it all feels so incredibly right!
I now practice being successful in everything I do. For example, when I’m doing something as mundane as working out at the gym, I tell myself, “Carlo, if you can’t practice with intention in a sheltered, controlled environment like this, how can you survive the chaos of the outside world?” I practice this thought process everywhere. No matter what I achieve, I take every moment as an opportunity to hone in my skills of intention which allow me to be the best version of myself every single day.
From my family to my new business, from the yoga mat to the food I eat, from my failures and my wins and with all the people I choose to share this journey, the 17–18 hours of my day are so rammed with focussed, love filled work, there is little time (or brain space for that matter) to be offered to anyone or anything that doesn’t embody, to some degree, this simple but very emotionally intelligent and aware perspective on living that has changed my life.
It takes a ton of work. But it’s soooo worth it!What is that saying, “Get busy living or get busy dying”…ain’t that the truth.
Thanks for inspiring me to put these words together Ben.
Carlo
