Using design to prevent people from sharing stuff they didn’t read
Giulio Michelon

Hey, nice article and interesting point of view.

You just outlined the right ‘problem’, the user doesn’t read it because he is tired and has to work later but going to share it anyway.

Why not make other users understand that that article shared was done without reading. The problem is not the sharing, the problem is people reading. So if the shared had some indication that the person who shared didn’t read it, would that be more interesting?

I bet that if people were sharing and the sharing came “the person who shared this article didn’t read it”, people sharing would be more careful about sharing “self-awareness” and people reading would be more “ah, not sure about this article”.

Food for thought.
