I’m all for better representation but acting is different than being.

Just because the role is of a gay person does not mean it requires a gay person to play it.

Remember being gay is not an act. That’s not what a casting director is calling for, this ability to be gay. It’s the ability to meet the challenges of the role which goes beyond how that person identifies themselves.
