I want to say the last thing that I paid for but didn’t want was repairs to my car due to driving on poorly-maintained city roads, but like the twist in Nicole’s answer, I did not want my car to break apart while driving to work.
I paid $99 for the online home buyer education course. Which I wanted, but I wish I had known how long the wait list for an appointment to finish the process would be (just over 1 month) so I could have paid a different organization instead. It also seems like a program aimed at helping low and middle income people* purchase homes should be free, but maybe this is my pre-housing crash mentality talking.
*I feel a little awkward because while my income does qualify for the program, it’s still way higher than most of the categories listed on the intake form.
