How Much Is Too Much For A Haircut?
Megan Reynolds

I’ve been paying less and less for haircuts since I moved to Baltimore and don’t have a regular stylist. I’ve gone to a couple barber shops, including my most recent short cut for $35 plus tip. I was paying between $50–75 for most of my life at a fancy salon in the suburbs of Virginia. Aside from a stylist I like and have a history with, I have not seen much point in paying a lot of money for a haircut. My hair is not that challenging and when it was longer, I got the most basic (long layers) cut possible. If I paid $80 and got the same satisfaction as from a $30 barber shop cut, I get mad which decreases my overall happiness with the cut.
