I think I always wanted to lead so I watched other leaders carefully. I learned quickly the type of leader I wanted to be based on how I felt working under/with others. I’ve worked for people that inspired me and I wanted to learn from. I also noted when a leader wouldn’t hold my peers accountable and how that ended up creating resentment. I want to work with others that make me feel proud to be associated with them. A team sense of self-esteem matters — people want to know they are working with others that are pushing to make them better — not to set the bar low. People want to be a part of winning teams and I want to create that for them.
