Day 14

Date: January 17, 2017
Travel Miles: not many
Location: Abilene, TX
Meadow is currently playing with her squeaky toy so my brain is hearing *SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK* right now as I’m trying to concentrate. Also, my day was so incredibly full, I have my google calendar pulled up next to this note to remember what even happened. What even happened?
9–11am — work from home
11am — chapel send off for study abroad students
12pm — lunch with Allison at SHARKY’S!!!
1pm — session with study abroad students
2pm — meeting with Michael in library
4pm — skype practice with Frederick
6:30pm — dinner with Sensings
9pm — set at Seafood Tavern with Andrew Holmes
11pm — blog and BEDDDDDDDD (hopefully soon)

I think the main thing I took away from the day was how many people I ran into on campus! You know, I am just now realizing I walked all over campus but failed to see Chambers destroyed or the new science building! #tomorrowgoals Standing at the doors of Moody and sitting on the ground floor in the library are prime spots for running into people. It was wonderful! I saw so many Oxford students, friends, and even parents of students.

Another takeaway from the day was practicing for the gig on Friday! Frederick and I got a good two hours of practice in, although I will never recommend Skype practices because the audio is horrible when both parties try to play or sing. However, a practice is a practice, and it helped! Then tonight, my friend Andrew Holmes was playing at The Seafood Tavern and invited me down to sing with him kind of last minute. We were able to use that time as practice, too!

That’s all I can really think about writing to you, friends. Day 14!! That’s just crazy. Are you getting tired of my grammatical errors yet? I think I’m going to sign off now because I’m more blabbing than blogging.
To tired nights, learning music, rainy days, and squeaky toys. To friends that come and support me in my music!
Love,
Caroline
