Kaepernick will not sit during national anthem
Colin Kaepernick, 49ers quarterback, known this season for kneeling and sitting during the national anthems as a method of protest. His protest began by sitting down during the national anthem in the preseason and then in 16 regular season games. He believes that he opened many people’s eyes, but in an encouraging way. Kaepernick confirms how his protest method was conveyed because there was a huge amount of social inequality talk through many people and he was supported by other athletes throughout the National Football League and the National Basketball Association. There were other things that he did that did not receive the same amount of attention as when he would sit during the national anthem. Colin and his foundation have “pledged to give $1 million to community organizations helping unprivileged people.” The San Francisco 49ers decided to do the same with the same amount of money. What they are doing is giving 100,000 dollars a month for about ten months to organizations around the country. Hi teammates supported him throughout the process of his protest. Kaepernick said that he continues to plan to raise money for the underprivileged and to make his “Know Your Rights” campaign become huge. He is fighting the existence of social inequality, which he wishes it to be equal for everyone or to at least have everyone know where he or she are at in terms of equality. As far as is known, he will not be sitting next season through the national anthem.
