MINNIE

I had a dog named MINNIE

She wasn’t fat

She wasn’t skinny

She was a just right dog

She raised the kids year after year

Though Michael used to bite her ear

She took the kids out for a walk

She did everything but talk

She let them pull her on the leash

She was never out of reach

As a rule

She walked them to school

She saw them through elementary and high

She saw them off to college

By and by

Then came the graduation

The big celebration

Mom and Dad were higher than high

So proud were they

MINNIE sat back in the crowd

And we thougt we heard her say out loud

My I did a fine job — didn’t I

My pups have grown up well — she sighed
