Surveillance video shows Lynchburg armed robber grab woman, demand money

A masked man, carring a long barreled firearm, robbed local Sunshine Market #2 on Campbell Ave, around 11 pm on Tuesday, January 24. While no one was seriously injured, the assailant grabbed a female bystander and demanded the clerk to empty the register. The police are unsure how much money was stolen, for this is an ongoing investigation.

LU: Hurt to lead new center for law and government

Former U.S. Rep. Robert Hurt announced that he will head Liberty University’s Helms School of Goverment and the School of Law. With the goal to influence public policy, Hurt’s expirience as the representative of Virginia’s 5th district, will help attain his goal. Liberty University hopes to influence and spread conservative ideals through academic studies and student interaction with faculty.

Liberty erases double-digit deficit, defeats E.C. Glass in overtime

Liberty High School’s mens basketball team beat E.C. Glass tuesday night, in an intence and close 75–74 victory. While the overtime victory showed the leadership and athletic abilities of Raheem Anthony and the other players, the team was inspired by thier coach. Liberty’s asistant coach Tony McKinney who is currently battling cancer, gave the team a reason to fight for a cause other than themselfs.
