First of all, Madalyn O’Hair, though the only really outspoken atheist of the 20th century, is a horrible example to use. She was the Robert Tilton of atheism. She was a charlatan who put on a show of he said she said with TV ministers for financial gain.

I prefer the tag “non-believer.” I have no feeling of a god or any other being helping me with anything. I feel alone in that sense. The whole litany of legend, parable, ritual, whatever, of religion makes no sense to me. I am not bitter about that. I just don’t need it.

I had a fairly normal childhood. I am a feminist, but not a nut case. Of course, I object to the subjugaton of women in some, (most), religions.

Anything I feel comes from nature. That is not very intellectual, but we are animals, and we have lost our way with the other animals and the earth itself. If God gave Adam dominion over the earth, flora, fauna, and Eve, Adam did not do his job. I’m pointing this out, because there in the beginning of religion, nature had a part. But it has been rejected.
