I am lucky busy as well, always have been. But it took me a lot longer than you to figure out that it is always going to be this way, and I have been retired for a number of years now!

My busy has changed. It is MY busy, but you still never get to a place where you have absolutely no obligations to anyone but yourself. Not if there are people you love in your life. The key, I think, is for us to encourage those who choose to do their thing instead of being at our beck and call, and to cement their freedom by valuing our time enough to say when we cannot be available. The aim is that when you DO get together, it is because everyone really wants to, not because they feel obligated. Freedom all around. That is easier said than achieved, of course.

But it is all part of being lucky busy.
