Prestige Cars have more than three hundred miles on them compared to old cars. The way you maintain them will determine how much value you’ll get for your money.

Frequent Car Maintenance will reduce the time you go for prestige auto repair at a prestige car service center.

Car One Automotive has compiled a list of how to maintain your car to prevent breakdown. This list will keep your car in top shape and have a long shelf life.

Prestige Cars Maintenance Tips

1. Inspect the Radiator Cooling System: The inspection of the cooling system of the radiator is not hard to do. Let the engine cool down before removing the top of the radiator to prevent you from being injured. When it’s no longer hot, take off its cap and see if the radiator level is not high. Low level means the radiator needs to be cooled as prescribed by the car’s manufacturers.

2. Examine The Radiator For Leakage: Check for leakage if your vehicle constantly needs coolant to know if there is a complex issue. If you discover this, please seek an expert opinion.

Open your bonnet, check those pipes and hoses that connect to the heating system and radiator. If they are stained, then there is leakage.

3. Clean The Dipstick: Ensure your vehicle is leveled on the ground. Switch on its engine and leave it for a while then stop it from running. Let the engine partially cool off then take off its dipstick. Clean it with a neat rag and put the stick back properly.

4. Assess The Engine Oil Level: Take off the stick again and check the oil markings. See if the oil is at a low-level, add oil to it according to the manufacturers’ instructions. Never switch on the engine if the stick has no oil. Fixing an engine that has seized because its oil is finished is very costly.

5. Check the Tyre Pressure: This type of maintenance is to fix the tires’ pressure to ensure safety. There are tire placards that show how much pressure your tires have. Read your user leaflet to know the location of the placards. Not all third-party gauges are accurate. So make it a habit to have mechanical tire pressure gauges in your cars.

6. Replace Worn-outs Tyre Treads: The required tire treads are 1.5mm. To know when the tread wears out, its depth is indicated in the lines among treads. Once you confirm that the treads are ragged, buy new tires. If any of your tires are cracked, swollen, or have holes, there’s an issue.

7. Regular Tyre Rotations: Often rotate the tires to prolong their life spans especially when you have planned a long journey. Rotate extra tires and wheels also to extend their lifespans and keep the tires from drying out.

8. Battery Safety: Check and maintain your battery regularly to avoid fatal accidents. All batteries are hazardous including car batteries. When checking it, avoid doing so near open flames or cigarettes. Never smoke near a battery. They have explosive gaseous substances when charged with corrosive fluids inside. Never let batteries touch your skin, mouth, any surface with paints, your clothes, and your eyes.

9. Check Fluid Level of Your Battery: Take off the battery covers if available and inspect its fluids for their depth. When the plate inside the batteries is completely covered by the fluids, then the fluid levels are normal. A battery can come without cover but with indicators to show you the fluid level and battery condition. The indicators are found around the external cover. Low battery levels need purified water. Don’t overflow the battery with purified water.

10. Inspect The Battery Terminals: Tighten the battery terminal clamps and buy new battery covers when damaged. Wipe the batteries with dry clothes. If the terminal is blue or shows a whitish color, it is corroded.

11. Buy A Battery Charger: if you notice your vehicle doesn’t start as fast as before, charge your battery. It will prolong its operations and lifespan. Damaged batteries need to be taken to an auto repair shop immediately.

12. Replace Damaged Hoses: If there are cracks in the hose or it has doubled its size, take it to an auto-mechanic for replacement.

Why You Should Check And Maintain Your Prestige Cars

Prolonged Lifespan: No matter how long you’ve used a car when it’s properly maintained, it looks almost new. An antique vehicle that’s well maintained can last longer than a brand new neglected vehicle. As stated earlier, maintaining the battery, engine, oil and water level, tires, wheels, and brakes should be a habit.

Keep You Safe: Causes of numerous accidents on the roads are due to vehicle negligence. An example is when you neglect a faulty brake, drive the car on the road and you can’t control the speed of your vehicle. This will make you lose control of your car and get into an accident. The same is for damaged car tires that burst while driving which can cause fatal accidents. Car maintenance and prestige cars repair will ensure your safety.

Improved and Efficient Performance:

Using vehicle overtime requires adequate care and inspection. Otherwise, failure to maintain it causes reduced performance. Signs your vehicle is exhibiting the need for maintenance are high fuel consumption, decreased speed, wear and tear, and many more. If some parts are damaged beyond maintenance, repair your car at a prestige car service center like Car One Automotive.

Resale Cost is Significantly Higher Than Neglected Vehicles: You might decide in the future to sell your prestige cars due to one reason or the other. It is a fact that a well taken care of used car sells at a higher price than a damaged used car. Even vintage cars that are no longer produced, if properly maintained, get sold out at good prices. Don’t worry if the car you have isn’t vintage. You’ll still get good value for your money if it’s in top condition.

Need to Constantly Repair is Minimized: A neglected car will have a high cost of repair when taken to the repair shop. This is because a lot of things would have been damaged to the point that they have to be replaced. It is advisable to take care of your vehicle always to prevent spending much on repairs.

Conclusion

Always remember to check and maintain your prestige cars frequently to save costs on repairs.
