Carrara Marble Slabs

--

Carrara marble stone can change its form that began its life as limestone. With the passing of time, heat, and pressure, the limestone was transformed into a structure of small calcium carbonate crystals, resulting in an elegant white to pale grey marble with irregular veins of smokey grey and bright grains. It is highly regarded as a lavish marble used by Renaissance artists. Carrara marble is prized for sculpture and building construction due to its softness and resistance to shattering (making it easier to carve), as well as its uniformity. Carrara marble is highly valued around the world and has been used in numerous works of sculpture and architecture. Some notable examples include London’s Marble Arch, India’s Prem Mandir, and the Harvard Medical School buildings in Boston.
