How competitive is Internet access in India?

Thanks for sharing your perspective and adding some hard data to the discussion.

Independent of the faults of Facebook or Free Basics, the idea of universal access for the poor or underserved deserves more attention.

I’m trying to learn more about Internet access business in India. I’ve been working with Internet access business for 20 years in Brazil and I think that some of our experiences could be valuable to the current discussion. Of course, it’s not like we know it all and can solve India’s problems; it’s just that Brazil is also a big country, with poor and underserved regions, but with an industry of independent ISPs who serve close to 10% of the active users nationwide.
