San Francisco’s Digital Services team is growing. Right now there are 18 of us — a mix of product managers, designers, and developers. We’re looking for more people to join the team and help solve some of the trickiest problems in one of the greatest cities in the world.

To start, we are recruiting to four roles on our Affordable Housing Service team. This is a mature product that has been developed over the last 2 years. It is one of the things we’re proudest of because it is not just a great digital experience, but a great example of a service that makes life easier for its users through the use of technology.

We need a product manager, a full stack engineer, a Salesforce engineer, and a designer.

We are also looking for more product managers — we have one open position right now, with at least one more to come.

And if you’re a user researcher or a UX writer, we want to hear from you as well. We’re building up our capabilities and need experienced people with a passion for improving public services.

We are designing a new digital service for newly-legal cannabis businesses; we are designing ways for permitting to work online and tying the digital service in with our brand new physical permit center being developed at 49 South Van Ness. We need senior service designers who are happy to roll up their sleeves to help with that.

There is much work to be done. We are rebuilding the city’s website from the ground up, which means taking a service-led approach and making it so that anyone using the site can get what they need quickly.

Our work goes beyond websites. We’re re-thinking how public services are designed. By understanding what our users need and building with an agile approach, we are improving services and leading by example within the city.

We need bright, passionate people from all walks of life who care deeply about improving public services and have some experience on digital teams. As a team we value honesty, feedback, experimentation, and drive to get things done. We prefer making over talking. As a newly-formed team, every team member has the chance to help shape the culture early on and be part of something from the start.

If this sounds like the place for you, and you’re up for the challenge, then send your resume, portfolio or linkedIn profile to us here: https://digitalservices.sfgov.org/joinus.html

We can’t wait to meet you!
