The two-door, four-seater second-generation BMW M2 has been introduced in India. It is being sold as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is the most potent M2 ever made.

BMW M2

The new BMW M2 design exudes a sense of muscularity and athleticism from every angle. The signature kidney grille at the front takes on a more aggressive appearance, accentuated by larger air intakes that not only enhance the vehicle’s sporty appeal but also improve airflow for better performance. The sports car’s low-riding posture can be seen from the sides. Additionally, BMW equipped the M2 with M2-specific alloy wheels (19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the back), sportier-looking side skirts, and sharper ORVMs. The M2’s brake calipers are finished in blue as standard, but you can also get them in red. The M2 also has a contrast black diffuser, vertically positioned air intakes in the bulky bumper, and quad exhausts in the M style.

BMW M2 Interior & Features

Since the M2 is an M model, it has several M-specific features, such as carbon fiber accents, M-colored highlights, and red accents. Additionally, BMW makes the sports vehicle available with carbon fiber bucket seats, which reduce the M2’s overall body weight by 11kg. Paddle shifters, cruise control, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, linked car technology, heated seats, and a heads-up display are among the features included on the M2’s feature list. Its safety features include a variety of driver-support features, including parking assist, reverse assist, attentiveness assist, a 360-degree camera, several airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), and cornering brake control (CBC).

Powerful Engine

Under the hood of the new M2, BMW has installed a 3-liter, 6-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine that generates 460 PS and 550 Nm. It is available with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels. There are four different drive modes available in the BMW M2: Sport, Sport Plus, Comfort, and Efficient. Performance-wise, the M2 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.1 seconds with an automatic gearbox and in 4.3 seconds with a manual gearbox. The sports car’s electronically controlled peak speed rises to 285 kmph if you select the M Driver’s Package. For improved handling, it also has the Active M Differential as standard at the rear axle.

BMW M2 Price & Rivals

The BMW M2 price in India is Rs. 98 lakh (Ex-showroom). In India, the BMW M2 doesn’t have any direct competition. The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS is its closest rival. If you are not into serious sports cars then the Mercedes-AMG A45 S hatchback and the Audi S5 Sportback are more practical options that are less powerful but equally priced.
