Thank you for a fascinating insight into your design process. From your description it doesn’t seem like your analogy quite works. If your approach were to follow elBulli, the interface components would be assessed/analyzed independent of your Design Principles. Otherwise the research would not be objective. The Design Principles would need to be applied later, something reminiscent of a taste profile or philosophy of the chef/restaurant. This is more than a pedantic quibble: to truly break out of the mold, experiments need to run free of bias and judgement. Otherwise any results will tend to converge towards your pre-existing biases.
