How to Save When Food Shopping and MORE!

I despise food shopping. I’d rather get fitted for 5 suits and watch paint dry at the same time than go food shopping. Since I live in the outer boroughs of NYC we do not have the luxury of Amazon Fresh. I actually have to go to a store. Imagine that in 2016 I still have to go to a physical place to get groceries. While that’s not ideal, I use 3 apps to save money when grocery shopping and I have saved a ton!

Favado: This app downloads the weekly circulars into your phone. Select the stores near you and every week you will have a new circular to see what is on sale. It even compares what’s on sale and what is the better buy at each store. You can even search for an item and see who has it on sale. This might seem tedious but you can make your grocery plans based on what’s on sale!

SavingStar: This app gives you cash back on in-store grocery purchases. Select the coupons you want, buy the respective items, and the coupon amount is in your account. You can cash out your balance at any time for cash or gift cards. They even have Starbucks gift cards you can redeem.

Ibotta: This app is my favorite as of late. It has plenty of discount offers from grocery to electronics, even apparel. See whats on sale, verify purchases with a picture and you are done. Ibotta verifys your purchase in less than 24 hours. What’s even awesome with this app is your friends help you reach your goal when they use Ibotta too.
