Remember the good things…

Today seemed particularly challenging. The day started with my cat running across my face with a paw full of poo. There is no going back to sleep after that. So, off to work I went, early, after cleaning my face about 100 times over.

Earlier this week my debit card was compromised and I had not had a chance to get to the bank to get a new one so I had not had access to my account outside of transferring money or paying bills online. I conducted training the last two days and was unavailable to get to the bank during banking hours.

Today I was supposed to conduct training again and I was hopeful I would be able to get to the bank at lunch. Due to some technical challenges the training session ended up cancelled.

On top of this our tax refund, didn’t show up in the bank while the IRS stated it was deposited in the bank.

Needless to to say by lunchtime today I was feeling a bit frazzled. I was distracted and decided to work from home the rest of the day. When I popped my head into one of the offices, to let a couple co-workers know, they reminded me at least I wasn’t headed to the bank to get a new debit card and to write a check to the IRS for money I owed. See! Silver lining!

That started turning my day around just a little bit. They were right. I didn’t owe the IRS money, I did have a job where I could go home and work from home for the afternoon.

We did find the money, and while I do plan on writing a very nasty letter to the bank who really blew it, at least we found the money and we are in possession of the refund.

I wrapped up my day and was even able to take a short nap after work today.

We went to the cider taproom (Colorado Common) for our regular Thursday evening visit and had a nice visit with friends there. Driving home the full moon was so beautiful as it was rising and the clouds after the three days of rain were breaking apart.

This reminded me that despite the difficulties of the day life is beautiful. I am blessed to live in Colorado. I have a husband who is also my best friend. I am a lucky woman.
