Roland has recently released the all new TD-17 V-Drums kits. The kits combine the sound engine from the original TD-50, with newly developed pads, resulting in an affordable electric kit that sounds very close to an acoustic drum kit.

One of the best parts of this kit, is that if you are used to an acoustic kit, your playing style will not have to change. The kit features a 12-inch snare and a real-feel hi-hat that can go on your favorite hi-hat stand that you already have. The drums also feature built-in coaching functions, so that you can track your techniques, measure your progress and increase your motivation.

There are three models in the series, the TD-17KV, TD-17K-L and the TD-17KVX. The TD-17KV and the TD-17KVX both feature bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to create your own sounds and play them on your kit. Another option is to create your own beats, then import those sounds into your favorite software.

The kit also features the all new KD-10 kick tower that feels great for your feet, and does not scoot away from you when you’re playing. The KD-10 has a quick response that acoustic players will feel comfortable playing.

What our experts are saying…

“This is a great-sounding kit that raises the bar at its price point. The 50 built-in kits have lots of useful sounds ready to play, rather than a bunch of gimmicky kits. The built-in sounds are a lot of fun to play. I especially like the drum & bass kits and the vintage electro kits. I was also very impressed with the feel of the new KD-10 kick pad. It reacts with the right amount of cushion and rebound.”
