Love the water :)

Lake Superior is truly a wonder of North America, and it’s hard to overstate its significance. With its stunning scenery, unique ecology, and rich cultural history, there is no shortage of things to explore when it comes to this remarkable body of water

At over 31,700 square miles, Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area. It stretches across the border between the United States and Canada and is part of the larger Great Lakes system. Its vast expanse contains more water than all of the other Great Lakes combined, and its depth reaches over 1,300 feet in some places. From the towering cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to the sandy beaches of Duluth, Minnesota, Lake Superior’s geography is diverse and awe-inspiring.

Beyond its natural beauty, Lake Superior also has a unique and fragile ecosystem. Its waters are home to a variety of fish species, including lake trout, walleye, and northern pike. The lake is also a major stopover point for migrating birds, with over 300 species passing through each year. Unfortunately, Lake Superior is also under threat from a variety of environmental stressors, including climate change and pollution. By learning about and protecting this amazing ecosystem, we can help ensure that it continues to thrive for generations to come.
