The Ninth Week
We have hit the ninth week of school. For the first few weeks of school the class was mostly talking and listening to Mr. Wettrick talk. We talked about how to develop ideas and how to “twitter” most of the time. Recently we have stopped talking so much and have started working on our projects.
As you know my project is about learning from people from an older generation. I want to hear their greatest accomplishments and their biggest regrets. I want here what they have learned over time. This project has had some trouble. The nursing home that I was talking to does not allow anyone to film or record audio of the residents. They said I could write about the interviews as long as they read it first. But I am not a writer and I don’t want to be a writer.
So now I am seeking out different organizations that have a lot of older members. I am talking to The Lion’s Club, The Moose, and The American Legion. I wanted to have filmed something by now but that didn’t work out for many reasons. Some are probably my fault because I have such a busy schedule, but this week I should be able to film. I have been designing my YouTube channel in the meantime and I have been thinking of question to ask. Over fall break I still plan to publish the videos.
Looking forward with this project I want to contact more organizations. There is a group called C.A.N.D.L.E.S. that I have heard of and it is a group of Holocaust survivors. I would like to contact them after fall break once I have already published some videos.
