Hi There, today, we will be walking you through the steps of how to fund your Cashwyre account but before then, for the sake of the first-timers, we will try to introduce Cashwyre to you.
Cashwyre (which can be downloaded on the Google play store) is a platform that provides payment and payment services to our customers. We also make it very easy for ANYONE to save in Bitcoin at their preferred intervals.
In addition, Cashwyre provides utility services to our customers. You can pay for utilities using Fiat, Bitcoin, and Stablecoins.

For you to use any of the Cashwyre services, your account needs to be funded. In achieving that, Cashwyre provides various options which will be discussed below.
In order to Fund your Cashwyre wallet, you must have downloaded the Cashwyre App on the google play store and signup takes just 2 minutes to get onboard. After signing up, log into your account using your email/username and password.
HOW TO FUND YOUR CASHWYRE ACCOUNT
Click on the FUND WALLET button which is on the Dashboard.
On the next page, you will see the different options or methods you can use to fund your account.
USING LOCAL CURRENCY: This requires you to transfer your local currency to the provided bank account or mobile money that will be shown to you. Your Cashwyre account will be funded with the USD equivalent of the transferred amount once the payment is received.
- Click on the Use Local Currency button to proceed and you will be shown the account to transfer to in order to fund your wallet using local currency.
2. If you wish to fund your account in other currencies, click on the “Other currencies” button, this takes you through the steps of entering the amount you wish to fund your account with.
3. You will be shown the Partner’s account you are expected to transfer to.
4. Once the transfer has been initiated, click on the “I have sent …” button to submit the request. Your account will be funded once the payment is confirmed.
NOTE the narration when making the payment, using the advised narration makes it a lot easier to confirm your transfer.
USING FOREIGN CURRENCY: Cashwyre also provides the flexibility to fund your account using foreign fiat currencies such as USD, EUR, and GBP. Below are the steps;
- Click on the Use Foreign Currency option
2. You will be directed to a page where you will be required to select the country and currency as well as the payment mode you wish to pay with.
3. Choose your preferred Cashwyre Partner you may wish to process the transaction. All the displayed partners are vetted so you can proceed with the transaction.
4. Enter the amount you want to fund your account with.
5. You will be shown the Partner’s account details you are to transfer the foreign currency. As much as possible, use the narration advised on the platform when making the transfer and submit once payment has been made. Your account will be funded once payment is confirmed.
USE STABLECOIN: Cashwyre provides you the option to fund your account using Cryptocurrency. At the time of writing this blog post, we only support the option of USDT (TRON).
- Select the cryptocurrency you wish to fund your wallet with. The amount field is optional so you may choose not to enter any value. Click on the Proceed button afterward.
2. A cryptocurrency address and/or QR Code will be generated for you immediately. You can share the address/QR Code with anyone or send the asset directly to the address from any wallet (Binance, Coinbase, e.t.c.). Your Cashwyre USD wallet will be funded immediately the asset is received.
Kindly take note of the Asset type. DO NOT send a different asset to the address as this may lead to permanent loss of funds.
USE BITCOIN: Cashwyre also provides you the option to fund your account using Bitcoin. At the time of writing this blog post, we support Bitcoin on-chain and Lightning payments.
- Select the cryptocurrency you wish to fund your wallet with. The amount field is optional so you may choose not to enter any value. Click on the Proceed button afterward.
2. A cryptocurrency address and/or QR Code will be generated for you immediately. You can share the address/QR Code with anyone or send the asset directly to the address from any wallet (Binance, Coinbase, Bitnob, Wallet Of Satoshi e.t.c.). Your Cashwyre BTC wallet will be funded immediately after the asset is received.
NOTE: For lightning Invoice, you are required to enter the amount of Bitcoin or its USD equivalent you wish to fund your wallet with. The generated Lightning Invoice can be shared with anyone to receive payments. The Lightning option is instant, your wallet gets funded instant but using the on-chain method, it may take up to 1-hour tours to receive the payment.
Also worth noting, the invoice should be paid before it expires. By default, it is 1 day.
