But that seems to apply only if the singleton believes that the “host universe” is similar to its own, right? Or if the singleton is so positive-leaning that it does not care much. But if you, Brian, became a singleton yourself, you would probably care about whether you are just governing some simulation or whether you control the base level of reality.

Personally, I find Alexander’s idea quite interesting, though maybe not particularly relevant right now. I’ll keep it in in the back of my mind for when I delve deeper into anthropic reasoning.
