“With great power,
Comes great responsibility.”
― Uncle Ben
Loki: I have an army!
Tony Stark: We have a Hulk.
“Easy, miss. I’ve got you.” — Superman
“You… you’ve got me? Who’s got you?” — Lois Lane
Most of you have embarked on a nostalgic trip down the road after reading the quotes, and I am sure that we all have either read the comics, watched the cartoons, or have seen those movies on our beloved superheroes like — The Superman, Spider-man, Justice League or
The Avengers, and the second we were done watching those movies or reading those comics, all we wished for was, “Oh God, just for once, please let me have those Superhero powers, those Abstract-Magical-Supernatural powers, just for once”, pretty nostalgic, huh?
But Beware!! Right before you dwell deeper into the thoughts or fly high into the bubble of the above obvious facts, let’s get one thing straight, ask yourselves one simple question.
Do you believe that we humans could ever possess such sorts of Superhero powers or such Supernatural-Magical powers?
OF COURSE NOT!! Is the first reaction that comes into the minds of any human-being, and why should there be any different reaction at all??
After all, we unanimously believe that we humans are not capable of possessing such powers.
But the truth and the reason that we humans cannot possess such Abstract-Magical-Supernatural powers, is because “WE BELIEVE THAT WE CANNOT!!”
But what most of us are unaware of, is that “WE DO POSSESS AT LEAST TWO SUCH MAGICAL POWERS!”
Yes! Yes! You read it right! Two absolutely Abstract-Magical powers, possessed by all of us. You, Me and every other fellow human out there.
At this point the obvious thoughts running inside your minds are that, either I am bluffing or joking around. Well, let me assure you I am not. Further, not carrying the long kept secret any longer, let’s move straight to the point!
The two Abstract-Magical powers that I have hammered about so far are, the first being, THE WILLPOWER to achieve anything that human mind is capable of thinking; and the second being, THE POWER TO USE TIME AS A TOOL for our own advantage.
“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly.” ―Proverb
We all are passionate to do remarkable things in life, to achieve great heights in life, we establish our goals high; we plan meticulously to achieve them. We put in a great deal of time and effort into accomplishing them, but unfortunately we never hold on to our goals, we never stick to them, we are never sure by when we want to attain our goals, or by when we want to put the carefully crafted plan into action, or by when we want to see the desired results. In simplistic terms, we never SHOWCASE THE WILLPOWER or LAY EMPHASIS ON having a TIME-LIMIT over achieving our goals.
“Those who make the worst use of their time, are the first to complain of its brevity.” ―Jean de La Bruyère, Les Caractères
Slowly and gradually our determination to accomplish our goal diminishes and in the end, we give up altogether, all our hard work goes in vain. There might only be a handful of people out there, who might not have encountered such experiences. For the rest of us, this is a usual thing, a routine, a way of life!
“WE DO POSSESS AT LEAST TWO SUCH MAGICAL POWERS!”
BANG! NOW THE TIME HAS COME to transform your lives, to turn your life around, here and now is the opportunity to change the way of life, because I have just armed all of you, have handed-over the arsenal to you, which holds in it the two most wonderful magical powers that we all possess, that we all can use in order to improve our lives.
Willpower — being our first magical power, is immensely powerful but is poorly practised. As said earlier, we all are passionate to do remarkable things in life, to achieve great heights in life, but — How many of us are actually able to achieve them? How many of us get the desired results that we expect of? How many of us stick to our goals with sheer determination and willpower? How many of us hear that rigid yet divine voice in our ears screaming and reminding us of just one thing “I have to achieve my goal, no matter whatever it takes”? Exactly, hardly any!
“Success comes, when the attitude is; Whatever it takes!” ― Unknown
But once you have established the goal that you have ambition to attain, or the path you want to lead, extremely clear in your mind, all you have to do is stick to it with all your might, with all your willpower, hear to that rigid yet divine voice, and see the magic unfold.
You’ll notice yourself moving ahead, you’ll witness yourself getting nearer to attaining your goal.
You will put your meticulously crafted plan into action and with the help of our second magical power, you will indeed achieve your goal.
“The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” ―Ayn Rand
The Power To Use Time As A Tool — being our second magical power, can be considered as the greatest gift to the mankind. Time is a powerful element, no doubt, but you my friend our more powerful than it. We all want to achieve remarkable things in life, but the biggest question is “BY WHEN?” — By when will you achieve them? By when do you want to see the result of your hard work? In a days’ time, in a week, a year or the whole lifetime, if you don’t set a deadline, the answer certainly is never!
As important it is to stick to your goal with all your might, equally important it is to have the results in sight!
“If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.” ―Abraham Maslow
Now picture this! You have the perfect fusion of these two magical powers, “The Willpower” and “The Power To Use Time As A Tool”, imagine this fusion of as The Hammer, and all you have to do is, just NAIL IT!
You stand so clear with your goal in your mind, and the time by which you want to achieve it, that everything falls in line on its own.
We can set a goal to complete some of our homework in some well defined and reasonable amount of time, and just stick to it, and in the end — Magic! It’s done before you even realize.
We can set a goal to achieve the work target given to us by our boss, and have a time-limit over it, and just stick to it, and in the end — Magic! It’s done before you even realize.
The implications are practically endless, and by this time I am sure you all have at least two or three of your own already rolling up in your minds.
Don’t stop when you’re tired. STOP when you are DONE.
1. Set a goal, be sure of exactly what you want, the kind of result that you are looking for — and have the willpower to achieve it.
2. Make the final result time bound. Allow yourself a reasonable and a definite amount of time to achieve the goal.
3. The last being the simplest and easiest, JUST STICK TO IT!
And in the end, Magic! (Yeah! You know what to say :D)
