Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz are back at it again in Ralph Breaks the Internet, the sequel to Wreck- it Ralph. Ralph Breaks the Internet is a bitter sweet movie that highlights the value of friendship. This is seen through Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz adventure to the internet.

Vanellope von Schweetz is tired of the norm and feels the need for something new in her game, Sugar Rush, due to the fact that she races on the same track and always wins. She wants something new and exciting so as a good friend, Wreck-it Ralph decides to create a new track for her. Although Vanellope von Schweetz enjoys this new track, it is problematic because it destroys the game to the extent of shutting the game down. Mr. Litwak, the arcade owner, shuts Sugar Rush down because the steering wheel to the game got broken and the replacement steering wheel on eBay is way out of his budget. Not only is Sugar Rush destroyed, but all the characters are displaced from their “home,” including Vanellope von Schweetz. Wreck-it Ralph is determined to fix the mess he caused because Vanellope von Schweetz is heartbroken and his best friend. Wreck-it Ralph is determined to make everything normal again, so he comes to the conclusion to go to eBay to buy a new steering wheel.

Whenever first arriving to eBay, Vanellope von Schweetz and Wreck-it Ralph find the steering wheel and immediately start bidding. The whole time they are playing around, and they bid a crazy amount of money, without realizing that they have to pay with actual money. Realizing that they only have a few hours to raise money, they align themselves with J.D Spamley and Yes to raise money. J.D Spamley offers an alternative way to gain money by stealing Shank’s car from Slaughter Race, but that plan fails. Realizing Wreck-it Ralph’s and Vanellope von Schweetz motives, Shank refers them to Yes and invites Vanellope von Schweetz to race with her anytime.

Yes helps Vanellope von Schweetz and Wreck-it Ralph earn the money they need, but throughout the process Vanellope von Schweetz realizes that she no longer wants to go back to the arcade and race in Sugar Rush. Instead she wants to remain in the internet and become a racer in Slaughter Race. Wreck-it Ralph learns Vanellope von Schweetz’s dreams and becomes heartbroken and tries to destroy slaughter race by putting a dangerous virus in the game. The virus’s job is to find a problem and when it does it multiplies. Wreck-it Ralph is detected as a problem and the virus begins to create multiple copies of Wreck-it Ralph because he is an “insecurity” due to his attachment to Vanellope von Schweetz. Vanellope von Schweetz is hurt when she learns this, but she still manages to defeat the virus.

In the ending Vanellope von Schweetz and Wreck-it Ralph defeat the virus and have a heart-to-heart that helps Wreck-it Ralph learn the true meaning of friendship and that he did have a problem. In the process, Wreck-it Ralph encourages Vanellope von Schweetz to follow her dream. Vanellope von Schweetz reassures Wreck-it Ralph that even though they are apart their friendship is still going to remain the same. In doing so, they call each other and they plan to visit each other. The lesson of friendship that appeared in Ralph Breaks the Internet happens in popular culture more than you may think. For example, when you have to move or be split apart from your friend you may think your friendship may be different and you also become fearful that you may never talk to your friend again, but that friendship does not have to end or change because of distance.
