Dear Hotels: Don’t Wash My Towels Everyday, Give Me Back $5, and Save the World

Dear Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas,

It made my day to see this “World Aware” flyer in my room:

By washing towels and bed linens every THIRD day (instead of every single day) together you and I are saving water & energy.

(on detergent, water, housekeeping, etc). So here’s my idea…

My Idea:

1) The next time I stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel…
2) My linens only get cleaned on the third day (or when I request it)
3) I get $5 back on my credit card for each day my linens don’t get cleaned

I run a company myself, and companies both small and large have the power to change the world. Little by little our buying choices are influencing social norms.

I’d love to see the Cosmopolitan follow through on it’s commitment to reducing environmental impact by paying it forward. Literally by giving a small amount of money back to the customer, AND thereby .

It’s a small change, (but spread over millions of people) it could have big impacts.

What do you think?

PS. Let me know if you have any questions, I also posted this letter on Medium to see if anyone else had ideas to share.

Thanks to Alexis Rondeau.
