Help children to design a wreath for their front doors to celebrate the day.

Materials Needed

  • Paper plate
  • Green construction paper or cardstock
  • Markers, crayons, or paint (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or craft glue
  • Green ribbon or string (for hanging)

Instructions

  • Take a paper plate and cut out the center, leaving just the rim.
  • On the top half of the rim, draw or paint a rainbow using red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Let the paint or markers dry completely.
  • Use green construction paper or cardstock to cut out shamrocks.
  • If you don’t have green paper, you can color or paint white paper green before cutting.
  • Draw or use a stencil to create shamrock shapes of varying sizes.
  • Arrange the shamrocks along the bottom half of the paper plate rim, overlapping them for a full look.
  • Glue the shamrocks in place and allow the glue to dry.
  • Punch a hole at the top of the wreath (on the rainbow side) and thread a green ribbon through.
  • Tie the ends of the ribbon into a loop for hanging.
