This monthly newsletter will provide you with insights on what is happening at Altoona’s epicenter for innovation and entrepreneurship, Catalyst Space.
New Pig Visit
In December, we had the wonderful opportunity of hosting a tour for the local company New Pig. They will be exploring opportunities to use Catalyst Space as an off site think tank and prototyping location.

Hobby Turned Business
This month we would like to spotlight one of our members, Dan Saille. Dan has been busy over the past several months learning how to operate the CNC router at Catalyst Space. He has now taken these newly acquired skills and opened an Etsy shop to sell his creations.
Visit the SniklefritzStuios shop on Etsy to see all he has to offer!
STEM Squad’s Next Challenge Ahead
The STEM Squad wrapped up 2018 with another successful Faraday Celebration! If you missed it visit their Facebook page @stemsquadcatalystspace to see the highlights.
Up next for the squad is this year’s Botball competition where they will go head to head with other teams in the Greater DC/Virginia Region.
Happening 2019, but First a Look Back
Catalyst Space has come a long ways from when it was founded in 2015. Conceptualized by two roommates who had purchased a 3D printer and wanted to share the satisfaction that can only be experienced when an idea in your head becomes something you can hold in your hands.
Catalyst Space grew quietly over the next several years, growing both in size and resources available. Visitors often tell us “if only more people knew about this place”, and that’s all changing this year! The countless hours put into making Catalyst Space what it is will be put to the test this year as we let the community know what is in their backyard.
