Is Google Plus or Facebook Better For Inbound Marketing?

So, Facebook keeps changing it’s algorithm.

Does this effect you?

If you are a small business owner or a marketer for a small business, the answer is yes.

Everyone signed up for a business page with good intentions and used it to thier advantage. A free way to market our product/service to potential millions! What a dream! Our customer can find us, ‘like’ us and instantly receive updates on their newsfeed when we published a post. Oh, for the good ol’ days.

Fast forward to this new 1,000 component algorithm, and all of a sudden Facebook is making you pay to reach an audience that YOU worked to attain. And, not only that but now they are telling you what is “quality” posting.

They have complete control over your newsfeed and apparently over your interests as well.

The results? Organic reach is down, if not almost dead. Is Facebook being a dictator about what is allowed on your timeline? Possibly. Facebook enticed you with a “free” page.

But at lass, nothing in life is free, is it? Eventually, it was bound to happen. On some level we all knew it. Each of us helped build the monster known as Facebook.

So, here we are. What do we do now? Where is the road map? All signs point to money and Google+.

You have two options. Either increase your marketing budget by large sums so your consumer that volunteered to receive your posts can view your updates/promotions; or switch gears and double down on Google+.

Google+ is a fantastic tool. And, most probably will not suffer the same fate that Facebook currently is. If you are familiar with SEO and are a big believer in it, then you will be happy to note that if your business is set up on Google + the information you feed that page carries almost exactly the same weight as SEO. What a dream for marketers.

Quietly, it has become the second largest social media platform with 540 million monthly active users. Right now, you can get in on Google + before it explodes.

On Google+ you can build your brand and create authority. You can host live chats that are automatically recorded to YouTube. Engage with your community. Also, it is FREE.

I leave the voting to you. Facebook or Google+?
