I would add that the manifesto writer missed a golden opportunity to start a real conversation (i.e. not Breitbart style) about political correctness in the workplace, the university, or wherever. I’m on the left politically, female, not a Google alum, but definitely have felt in some academic and professional situations pressure to adapt beliefs I thought were silly, because it would be politically incorrect not to do so. But this manifesto writer was just sexist, plain and simple. Once a guy pulls out that BS about prenatal testosterone exposure, as he did, conversation gets shut down. I wish somebody would point out the obvious, which is that there is no scientific way to prove that prenatal testosterone exposure has any bearing on someone’s personality later in life. But like you say, when we decide men are from Mars and women are from Venus, rational discourse becomes utterly impossible.
