#ZeroWasteChallenge — Day Four

Aloha,

Today has been a bunch of fun… the time’s nearing when we can tell you about a super-exciting event that we’ve been working on!

Today also went really well zero waste-wise, I even managed to soothe my conscience over eating that packaged flapjack yesterday by making my own minimal waste ones today! They look burnt as anything, but they taste deeee-licious. All I used was coconut oil, orange blossom honey, almond butter and oats, so it’s not as processed as the store bought ones either. If my housemates and I don’t scoff them all tonight the guys over in Lush HQ might get to taste them too!

So I realised yesterday how imperative being stocked up with a great larder full of zero waste food is. I turned to our old friend Kathryn Kellogg (a face you might recognise from a zero waste article she wrote for the recent Lush Times). She’s fantastic and has her eco-practise down! She’s done us a favour and compiled this great list of her own zero waste pantry essentials:

I’m going to a yoga festival this weekend and am excited to see if there are some examples of great zero wastage going on there (I’ll take photos and show you next week if I find any). Festivals are just the best for crafty, recycled goodies like that!

I’m off to fill some jars with tomorrow’s lunch and delicious, wonky flapjacks now; as ever, keep those Snapchats and comments coming into the Lush Cosmetics channel. You can also Tweet me here with your own #ZeroWasteChallenge experiences, tips, questions, or anything else and we can have a lovely old chat!

Peace out, Cath.
