I Wish It Were JUST a Game

Very well written, thanks! I watched the Superbowl with a bunch of white Broncos fans. The only other Panther fan was a ten year old boy. I honestly felt stifled in my ability to root for the Panthers and sympathize with Cam. I am a recent fan of his and appreciate his emotionalism. I can relate as I often get in trouble for being too emotional at work. You are right, you can’t win for losing. I can also empathize with him walking out of the press conference. My son is an athlete and I am often incredulous at his patience in answering the same question, phrased six different ways, in the interviews after a game. “How did it feel when you won?”, “How did you know when you were going to win?”, “Which play indicated that you had the momentum in the game?” etc…There are only a couple of ways that you can respond to the same question asked over and over again that doesn’t make you sound like you are repeating yourself. I watched a pregame interview with Cam where they asked, “Why do you wear socks with your sandals?” REALLY?!? They couldn’t think of better question than that?
