Appreciations

I called a customer service department today: not to complain, or to demand they fix a problem, but to say thank you for a service well-rendered.

Some of you playing that first-seven-jobs meme had crappy customer service jobs, like I did, so you can appreciate how rare it is for customer service reps to hear good news from happy people. In what feels like an era of tragedy and trolling (not to mention Trump) it seems more important than ever to recognize our fellow humans, feel grateful for simple things, and express our appreciations to each other.

So if you have a thank you inside of you, don’t sit on it: share it. I wasn’t surprised when the person who took my call told me I’d just made her day; what surprised me was that making that call made my day, too.
