The value of writing every day

I write about 4-5 a5 pages every day, usually when my 10 yr old isn’t around! I find that putting everything on paper helps me sort the rubbish from the stuff I need to deal with. It would be easier just to write a couple of lines but I’ve found the process cathartic & once I start writing I find it difficult to stop as more information, worries & dreams come pouring out of my pen. I’ve found it hugely helpful & I find my days go better when I’ve completed my morning pages than the days where I put it off! Thanks for writing a great article on morning pages & showing that it can be a brain dump or a way to figure problems out, or even both.
