I know what you mean. Same happened with Colin Kapernick and Bill Cosby, to name a few prolific examples. I had white folks directly ask me my thoughts on these grown, independent men's decisions, even though I'd never expressed a care about football or a unique interest in bill cosby but there I was expected to weigh in. I didn't. I didn't weigh in on white people in the news either, but then again, I wasn't asked.
