Don’t feel guilty for looking after yourself. If it was a physical illness, you would take the time out to recover by resting, upping your vitamins and taking ibuprofen. The only difference is that the illness is in your brain.
Things didn’t go as planned for me. I overdid it, in every aspect. In a span of those two last years, I had gone from super athlete and working 60h/week to being disabled. I thought I could take on the mental breakdown, and the physical exhaustion I was addressing my body by hitting the gym every single day to release the negative emotions. It worked for a while, and then I got injured.
