Great article, Brie!
I find working from home an advantage for both employee and employer. As you say, working from home allows you to spend more time with your loved ones, but the employers get a great benefit as well. Companies do not have to pay for office spaces, meeting rooms, recreation areas and also don’t have to pay for all employee consumers like electricity, IT infrastructure, internet, coffee, food, cleaning services etc. These costs are not at all negligible for SMEs, or startups.
IMHO, the key for a good work output from home is discipline and this requires some self management of time and effort. There are a lot of tools to help people reach good habits, like this one: http://cristianbara.github.io/myto-dos/
Maybe it help you and your readers as it helps me.
Working from home is advantageous and hopefully it will be seen as such by most companies.
