Paper Mountain
13 of 💯 — A Nod to Writer’s Block
Self-doubt permeates my body. The last twenty-eight days flashed before my eyes. First, one day here and there, then five days in a row without publishing a story. I recoil, staring at the paper mountain, desiring to turn back. The mountain, paved with stories, seems insurmountable.
The words don’t come, and distractions lay at every nook and cranny. I look for excuses not to continue, but no matter what, the paper mountain lingers as if taunting me with hidden stories waiting to be unearthed. When I continue to climb, I find them tucked away in caves, where I break for coffee and silence from my children. Other cliffs hide gems once I pull myself up. Yet still, crags filled with inspiration and laughter from my children.
The paper mountain holds wonders of the universe, and I’ve only begun my journey.
Thanks to Zane Dickens’ and the 💯 Story Challenge. Check out Road Trip by Bradan Writes Stories. It has a fun found-footage vibe, but written, ya know!
Thank you for supporting my journey. I write when I’m not chasing my kids around for the summer!
