Nice summary Quincy. I concur especially with your points about exclamation marks — ! is always enough and often too much — although I’m not a fan of the serial comma.
For headlines though, I would like to see fewer writers use profanity to try to grab a reader’s attention. I don’t think it works and it cheapens their stories. Also, fyi, there’s a couple of typos:
- Always include a high-resolution image at the top of an story under your headline. This has the following benefits:
- If an acronym isn’t already widely understood, and you’re going to refer to more than a few times, you can define it as an acronym by doing this:
