Their discussion circles around how Numerai crowdsources the machine learning part of the equation to create better investment models and how cryptocurrency can be utilized by hedge funds. • Behind the Markets Podcast: Corey Hoffstein. Guest Corey Hoffstein is the CIO of Newfound Research. After discussing Hoffstein’s process of starting his own podcast, it turned to their thoughts on low future expected returns. Hoffstein’s thought: investors will need to get uncomfortable and be different than the traditional 60/40 in order to enhance returns. Then they discuss why trend following is a huge way to manage peak sequence risk. They wrap up their conversation with Hoffstein’s thoughts on the future of ETF’s; more specifically, leveraging the 60/40 portfolio as a way to increase returns. • Knowledge at Wharton: How Junk Bond Funds Can Be an Early Economic Indicator. This episode features Wharton professor Itay Goldstein, who discusses his paper on what best indicates an economic downturn is coming. The Rest

  • December 26er Podcast: Episode 30: Interview with Tyrone Ross Jr. Ross is a former self-described three-time failed Olympian and current financial consultant/cryptocurrency expert. Ross covers his incredible story — from lost college scholarships to missing the Olympics and ending up at his current role as Managing Partner at NobleBridge Wealth Management. I urge you to listen to the episode in it’s entirety: Ross’s vulnerability, grit, and openness is inspiring, especially at the end of the episode. • Fresh Air: Activist Khalida Brohi On Honor Killings In Tribal Pakistan. Warning for this episode — it is difficult to listen to at times due to the gravity of what is going on in Pakistan. The guest is a women’s rights activist against honor killings and exchange marriage, and authored a memoir called I Should Have Honor. Her story is incredible, and I honestly can’t write anything to do justice to what she has seen and been through. The episode is a real eye opener to what is happening on the other side of the world.
