Empathy Has No Borders

A beautiful mural has been installed at Leaps & Grounds as part of the Culture Mile’s ‘City Vistas’ project!

‘Empathy Has No Borders’ has been installed on the floor outside Leaps & Grounds, and it looks magnificent! A beautiful work of art that touches on themes of togetherness, inclusivity, and womanhood. This specially commissioned mural combines the work of Ukrainian artist Yuliya Dan with that of Spanish muralist Carlos Peñalver. Dan’s usual medium of ink has translated wonderfully to the space thanks to Peñalver’s vinyl application technique — we’re told the material is the same as that used in M&M World, and is designed to be walked over by up to 26,000 people every week!

A mural adorns the floor in front of the Leaps & Grounds coffee cart. It depicts a diverse group of women and young girls.

The Culture Mile’s ‘City Vistas’ is an exciting new art project designed to bring people back to the City of London — hosted by various organisations across the CoL, the project re-energise those spaces that have suffered as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. From Farringdon to Finsbury Circus, the mile includes 13 murals, sculptures, and interactive spaces that highlight each organisations commitment to their Environmental, Social, and Governance priorities.

Why not take a stroll next time you’re in the area and see if you can find all 13? Don’t forget to stop in for a coffee whilst you’re exploring! We’re thrilled that this piece of work was commissioned for Leaps & Grounds — it represents so much of what this social enterprise is about…

Inclusion. Collaboration. Compassion.
