How to 360, Series 1: How to use the Ricoh Theta S

A few months ago my co-founders Guillaume Sabran, Jacob Trefethen and I started building Metta, the 360 video network (now accepting beta signups).
During my time at Metta I’ve talked to hundreds of 360 camera owners about the major pain points they face when shooting, exporting, and editing their 360 video footage.
At Metta we’re working on some exciting features that will make it a hell of a lot easier to make awesome 360 videos (we’ll be rolling them out to our beta testers soon so get on the waitlist if you’re not already and you’re a 360 video creator).
In the meantime, I’ve started uploading a series of tutorials on a new YouTube channel entitled How To 360 to help 360 camera owners get the most out of their devices.
I’m starting with a series of videos about how to use the Ricoh Theta S — right now still the most reliable consumer-level 360 camera out there. It’s still the one that I’d recommend to people the most today, although I’m certainly looking forward to getting my hands on the new LG and Samsung 360 cameras.
Check out the videos below and let me know which questions you’d like me to answer next! The first videos in the series are designed for total beginners, but even those who’ve had their Thetas for a while have told me that they were exporting videos to their Macs using the “slow” method for months. If your current import process is painfully slow, be sure to check out this video to speed up your export/stitching times.
